Steven,

But you are still not answered, how much degrees you want to rotate. If
it is 90x rotation you can use Orientation tag and tiff2rgba utility
(from libtiff package). You will get rotated result as an output. Of
course, it is possible you don't want to convert your images in RGB
color space...
