Hello,

i want to create images from scratch and therefore need fx to draw  
basic elements like squares, circles, lines, filled or outlined, and  
text (!).

Is there any attempt to build a supporting lib/tools for that?
How can i create text in an image? Yes, there must be fonts, but  
which one to use and how to build routines to "render" them into  
graphics memory.
I'm shure all this is done before, but maybe someone like to share  
his experience with me/us :-)
