There is no support for non-standard custom IFDs (at least, no documented support, but you can create such a directory using libtiff API tricks).

Thank you for the update, and, as always, for your work.

And I do not think it is serious deficiency.

That entirely depends on what the user needs. Another point of view is from the actual file format - the IFD and tag system is a pretty basic groundlayer. But, that aside, thank again, I do hope you get all credit and thanks you deserve for this work.
