However, when it comes to mailing list administration, Frank rules, and I totally respect his opinion on this matter without further discussion, which seems to be that the subject is controversial and either option would make some people dissatisfied. (See bottom part of http://www.asmail.be/msg0055354859.html.) I would like to take the opportunity though to remind peple to please include tiff@remotesensing.org in the To list. These days, I'm receiving more off-list mail then on-list mail, and quite often, the off-list mail is the most defenite. This means all subscribers receive mostly questions, while most are primarilly interested in the usefull answers. And it turns the potentially very usefull archive into a waste of (expensive) space. Eric, thank you for sharing the pointer to the usefull LibTiff code snippet. This does settle the matter. As it also indicates you were not consiously choosing to mail only privately, I'll include your complete mail in the archive and thus restore thread logic. Thanks again!
