I have searched through the code a bit, and there doesn't appear to be
any way to get the TIFF library to read or write arbitrary "rectangles"
of raster info from or to an existing TIFF file.

I don't have a problem with buffering up the tiles/strips myself to take
care of this, but I just wanted to check with the mailing list to make
sure there wasn't already some code out there to do this.

Any thoughts?
