I am guessing that the 3.8.2 download came from visiting ³libtiff.org", and going to the download link ³libtiff.maptools.org/dl/", which redirects to ³dl.maptools.org/dl/libtiff², which is libtiff v3.8.2. Seems like by far the most sensible choice on a Google search for libtiff.

Doesn¹t help that the other link, remotesensing, is dead, and that maptools hosts the correct home page, but incorrect code.

Really, quite a disaster, all these links, with all the ones _looking_ like the right attributions actually being exactly the wrong ones.

What gives with libtiff.org? I¹ve mentioned this so many times nowŠ happy to host everything at libtiff.info on GitHub.

I guess I didn't... How do you build Libtiff with jpeg support?

You did not say what operating system or compiler you are using but the libtiff configuration and build documentation may be found at http://www.simplesystems.org/libtiff/build.html.

I definitely caution against using such an archaic libtiff release as 3.8.2 in any modern program. Why are you using an archaic version?
