Hi all:

I'm trying to build a 64-bit libtiff 3.8.2 on Solaris 10, on a Sun Fire T2000 (UltraSparc T1 architecture), using Sun Studio 11 compiler, and I'm not having much joy.

Many of my TIFF's are over 2 GB in size, and even my 32-bit compiles kack at this, which I don't think they should. It's definitely a 2 GB boundary limit, I've tested it within a few hundred bytes on dozens of files. All my files are tiled, not raster, if it might make a difference.

Trying to compile in 64-bit mode, with Sun's suggested architecture flags of -xarch=generic64, or -xarch=native64, bring up 'compiler option not recognized' messages from configure, as does -xtarget=ultraT1. These flags work for other code just fine.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Kemp Watson
