This particular image is 28MB, not even close to a Gig. Perhaps that is the source of the problem? This customer does has many other images that are of the order of a gig.

Whoops - I slipped a couple of zeros! The layer data and offsets are around 22 Meg.

But the header still looks correct.

What other software have you tried to open this file with?
