Joris, Well, I have no objection as long as the results are seen as a poll providing feedback to those designing the new spec rather than some absolute rule of the majority. We don't want a slashdot crowd suddenly sloshing in here and deciding on us. I reserve the right to change my vote if others provide compelling reasons for alternative. PS. I forgot to mention, I don't feel maintaining 8bit alignment is really worth any significant trouble. We certainly can't depend on it when reading.
