I meant to say I honestly fear *there* may not be a real good solution to your problem. You may have to resort to solutions that solve only (small?) part, like putting extreme amount of work in making sure IFD list scanning is absolutely defenetly optimized to the fullest, in combination with solutions that solve bigger part of the problem only part of the time, like the external cache Frank and I suggested. Honestly, it is a step forward, is it not?
