The version of AsTiffTagViewer that is currently for download, does not work with child IFDs. So either - it is indeed a child IFD. In that case, AsTiffTagViewer is showing you no data about it. - it is not a child IFD. In that case, I'm pretty sure AsTiffTagViewer is correct. The '0 samples' stuff may be related to other things. If the file is under 1 megabyte in size, you may send it to my personal e-mail address, and I'll take a closer look.
