my manpage shows no "-c" option! Unfortunately tiff2ps shows no version,
so I can say only that I have Suse 8.2 with tiff2ps.
Which tiff2ps do YOU have? - Look at the homepage of hylafax, the
manpage is listet an is exactly as mine:
    http://www.hylafax.org/man/tiff2ps.html

... moment, Ross, booting my laptop with Suse 9.1 .. and there
it is: a newer tiff2ps with some more options like "-c".

I already tried these options SEPARATED but no success.
The "-h" option didn't move the fax from to bottom to middle or top.
Now I tried BOTH, "-h" AND "-w" - and I had success!

Here is the solution for german A4-standard with "old" tiff2ps:
  tiff2ps -a -h 11.7 -w 8.5 /fax/fax00332.tif > fax.ps

But Ross, read what I've detected: gv fax.ps shows a EMPTY
document! Prove it on your own! Take http://www.aiai.de/fax00058.tif!
You might think of a error in conversion! I tested gs fax.ps (gs, not gv!!)
and I detected that gv shows a wrong picture, gs show the right pic.!

Now, applying ps2pdf fax.ps fax.pdf delivers the correct result I searched!

Thank you for your pointers, Ross!
Hope this helps others!
