I can not. The requirement is TIFF and it can not be 
changed. (textile industry) 
 
I already have my own functions for reading/writing TIFFs 
with such structure, and they proved to work fine (already 
for quite long period of time). 
I just wanted to support more TIFF formats than just one. 
 
Thanks to everybody who shared their thoughts on this 
topic. This was very helpful to me.
