Hi,

I have a Tiff Image with following specification. Can somebody tell me what
does the extra sample value means.

TIFFTAG_EXTRASAMPLES 
Tag 338
Value = 999

where Extra Samples = 1, PhotoMetric = 2

As according to the Tiff Specification, Extra Samples can have 3 possible
values :-
0 - Unspecified
1 - Associated Alpha
2 - Unassociated Alpha
