Im wondering as to where you would expect to see the increase in performance? I would expect libtiff to be IO bound, although this kind of statement would ideally be backed by benchmarks.

Is anyone interested in having OpenMP support in libtiff?
Is this feasible? am planning on adding this feature for another project I
I am working on, so I am trying to gauge interest.
Just to clarify, this work would be contributed back to libtiff, under current libtiff license.
