There is a known bug in version 3.4 beta 37 which crashes libtiff when a G4
file with scan lines longer than 64K is read in (or written out).  A fix
was posted to this list by Franois Dagand.  I'm not sure if it's included
in the current version.  I will send his message to you directly, rather
than reposting it to this list.
