To implement properly you would need a full spec, i.e. a copy of the standard, but DO NOT buy the ANSI standard. That has been superceded by the ISO standard (ISO 12639). Unfortunately ISO standards usually cost more than ANSI ones, but you should be able to get a copy from DIN.
