The GeoTiff specification is wonderfully obscure.  The geoasciiparams 
tag holds all string values referenced by the entries in the GeoTiff 
directory tag.  A very odd way to do things.  I have wondered why they 
did it this way instead of using a private IFD.  (But maybe I 
understand given the problems associated with private IFD's.)
