Um... not to belabor the obvious, but upstream is unlikely to accept any patches they don't know about. this was your patch, or something  If you knew of, why didn't you submit it here yourself?

Patch has been written by Marcus Meissner to fix openSUSE package build.

(A quick look around opensuse's repo shows that they seem to be carrying a number of fixes that should have been submitted upstream.)

Let's start with bigendian one ;)
