I've downloaded the library. This seem a VERY good things!

I suggest including a link to this library in LibTiff documentation!!

Also, what do you think about including png support? (you probably known at http://www.cdrom.com/pub/png/pngcode.html the LibPng library and http://www.cdrom.com/pub/infozip/zlib/ for zLib, used by LibPng)
