Folks,

I have been pursuing a problem to make it possible for libtiff to read
and write 8bit and 12bit jpeg compressed images in TIFF format.  I have
committed a bunch of changes in libtiff head (libtiff4) in support of this
effort though it also depends on changes in libjpeg.  There is further
