Bob, I downloaded all of the pre-release versions from 3.9.0 and later, and they all share the same situation with the uninitialized samples/pixel variable. I also read through some of the ChangeLog entries, and it's obvious that there's lots of activity, but just not focused in the areas where I'm working - see about 4 people working pretty regularly on the package including you. Hmm, I still don't see anything about a watermarking function in tiffcp, so my current work on watermarking is not for naught. (Is that a double negative?) Gene
