I downloaded and built 4.0beta6 and it worked, so I tried the same with the last stable release (3.9.4) and it worked too. Yeah! Looked through ChangeLog, and changes dated 2007-02-22 may have addressed this issue -- can't tell as Bugzilla's down, but this may have been bug 890.
