Hi all,

I am rather new to the list and couldn't find any search utility for the
newsgroup, so sorry if I tire you with a previously answered question.

We have a Unix fileserver which serves Windows machines through samba.
Input are multipaged tiffs from windows clients. Output is again
multipaged tiffs to windows clients. This is siebel territory. In
between I have written some scripts that color-correct and reduce the
size of the original attachments.

My problem is that when I compose a multipaged tiff using tiffcp and I
try to view it through the standard Windows Picture and fax viewer, as
well as most other Windows freeware (IrfanView etc.) they will report
that the image is corrupt. Only the Office XP Document viewer will
display it correctly. Unfortunately we cannot use the Document Viewer.

Meanwhile when I try tiffsplit from the windows original tiffs I get:

Warning, incorrect count for field "PageNumber" (1, expecting 2); tag
ignored.

Before I start cranking the code any ideas, clues? (I suspect that the
pagenumber may have an effect).

Thanks,

Nikos Balkanas
