You ask a lot of questions! :-) Concerning compiler on msdos, I have used the djgpp port of GNU CC from oak.oakland.edu:/pub/msdos/djgpp. It comes with gnu-make, which makes it trivial to go to/from unix platform. A few hacks were needed to compile the tiff package on dos. But they are all easy! Thomas.
