David, There has been occational discussion on the issue, but it is hard to see how it could be done without impacting backward compatbility. That is, 64bit TIFF would essentially be a new format that traditional TIFF readers wouldn't be able to touch. The short answer is that there is no current plan to implement support for files larger than 4GB.
