Hi Joris,

thanx for your anwer.

With hex viewer WinHex I didn't find any occurence of 000000000001, and
only 21 occurencees of 010000000000.
So do you think, this file is repairable?
If you allow, I can send you this file (~200 kBytes) to have a short
look. The content is not very private.

I have received a fax via the inbuild fax console of Win XP. When I open
it with the Windows viewer, I see an empty picture (2 lines of 2 black
pixels, which are the border of an empty picture. Then I tried to open
it with IrfanView, which internally uses libtiff AFAIK, and got a
decoding error. Painshop Pro 7.04 really crashes on opening this tiff.

So I only need to view and read this fax.

Regards,
Ulf
