I just checked out and built the CVS code - same problem.

I'm sure Frank is right about the tiff directory position being the problem.

I saw this in the configure process:

checking for _FILE_OFFSET_BITS value needed for large files... 64 checking for _LARGE_FILES value needed for large files... no

It's only tiffinfo that can't chew on these images.

OSSIM and GDAL have no problem handling them at all.
