Ah, I see that the small djpeg decoder "does the right thing" with respect to colour conversion from the patched jpegsrc6b kit when exporting to BMP files.
I should test it on my unpatched jpegsrc6b library though.
It sounds like things are very much in flux where JPEG and TIFF are concerned.
I'd love to lend a hand to fix it up, but I've already gone off on a tangent
from a tangent that was itself a tangent to my "real work".
I would still love to find definitive reference images for the variant colourspaces so when I have the time and mandate to fully revisit this, I can hopefully provide something more useful such as patches instead of questions.
