No, it's not. However, I happen to know the list owner and most residents share my opinion on quoting, otherwise I wouldn't have made the remark.

I see you made a good effort this time, and I'm grateful. In the interest of future quoting style in your message, I'd just like to add the remark that it was totally redundant to quote my signature after yours. A signature or 'hello' is never something you actually reply to, so it should never be in a quote.

Anyways, thanks for making an effort. I'll shut up now, since most of us rightly hate meta conversations about as much as we hate bad redundant non-standard quoting.
