How is it failing? If the code is dumping core, submit a gdb backtrace of the coredump. The code you are using is also helpful.

I bet the problem is some weird issue with integer sizes and alignment issues on the 64 bit paltform...

I also guess that this is the problem.

Bill, everything else in libtiff is working on 64 bits? Could be a configuration problem...

I did not test the custom tags in 64 bits.
