PhotoShop is absolutely pathetic in its handling of transparent images. If you don't save in the native PhotoShop format, you don't get transparency. It sucks. Why PhotoShop is this pathetic is a complete mystery to me. Instead, you have to do a bunch of crap where you make an alpha channel and <then> save it as a TIFF, PNG, TGA, or other format that understands transparency. The internal alpha channel that PhotoShop has to maintain in order to provide transparency is not easily output by it.
Can anyone tell me how I can make a TIFF transparent. I am working on
the Windows environment. Can it be done. After making a TIFF
transparent in Adobe Photoshop it saves it in a white background. How
can I tell if it is transparent?
