There was never a TIFF 7.0 spec. The TIFF working committee dissolved into political chaos while attempting to write a TIFF 7 spec.

Yes, the current spec. is TIFF 6.0 plus the 3 technotes.

No, there is no secret TIFF 7 spec.

I've been talking to an application vendor, who claims that all the output from their system is to TIFF 7.0 spec. Which they are aware not all viewers handle, but they use anyway.

I queried this, and was assured that the TIFF 7 spec is only available if you buy it from Adobe, and therefore they couldn't/wouldn't tell me any more.

I thought TIFF 7 was presented back in the 90s as a draft spec but never went any further, aside from periodic attempts to resurrect it, which fail...

I was under the impression the current spec was TIFF 6.0 amended by a couple of tech notes which add in extra compression type support and maybe a couple of tags, but that was that.

Am I wrong? Is there a 'secret' Adobe TIFF 7 spec? In which case why the secrecy? It's not like they use it as a core file format for anything.
