Would it be possible for me to login to your system to try and diagnose what is going on?
Personally I would have nothing against it but my machine is not *my* machine but my employers. Making things worse it is on a private subnet (IP number 172.16.16.2) behind a firewall. So I doubt I am able to help you in this case. Sorry.
I peronally think the problem might have something to do with the compiler. I use Darwin 1.2.1 (since 1.3.1 is not bootable on my machine) which doesn't come with the newest compiler. I had similar problems another time. In that case switching off optimization helped.
