People want to read their broken files, but do not want (or do not able) to complain against the broken software producing such images (if the file works with Photoshop, it should be correct file!).

Dear Mr. Kiselev,

thank you for your comment on the issue I put forward. I reported it to the developer of Pixel, too, and it was very rapidly fixed by him. So thanks to the help of this mailing list Pixel will produce more standard compliant tiffs.

By the way, I am suspect that particular software has not only wrong TIFF writer, but wrong TIFF reader too, otherwise this problem can not be leaved unnoted.

The things is, that it is not only PhotoShop, but also ACDSystems Canvas and XnView. As I am just a user it is difficult for me to judge what is standard compliant and what not, so I think a bit in the way you said - if it works with PhotoShop ...).

Thank you very much for your help!

Yours sincerely

Tobias Hilbricht
