Henk,
Other points aside, if it is possible for zip to return stream.msg as NULL during errors, we had best guard against it. I've committed a change to tif_zip.c for this, but can't easiliy test it. Could you try:
http://home.gdal.org/tmp/tif_zip.c
Frank,
With a bad zlib and a libtiff without the patch:
- on Linux: the output for my testfiles is ZIPSetupDecode: (null) (239x)
- on Solaris: the crash reported at the begin of this thread.
With the tif_zip fix
- on Linux: the output for my testfiles is: ZIPSetupDecode: . (239x)
- on Solaris: the output is now the same as on Linux and the program
does not
longer crash.
Thanks for making the fix.
Henk Jan
