I have an 8bit per color TIFF image. I have to convert it to 12bit per color TIFF image.

Yes. You would have the do the conversion though. Does that make the answer no? Oh I don't know, I'm confused with my own answer already.

You can do something like this with libtiff:

• read in 8 bit data
• hoon through data and convert each sample to 12 bit
• save the data to a new file
