Would some kind soul please send mail directly to me. Is TIFF Software "Release" 2.2 ancient?

Does it produce 24 bit TIFF files correctly? I'm having trouble with them.

Has anyone made xtiff work with 24 bit? Where is that source? The version I have says "oh oh, 24 bit, I've never tried that..."
