I am writing a program to erase pixels from a tiff image using TIFF library. I am using the point in a polygon test to check whether each pixel lies inside the polygon or not. I am having the problem at setting the pixels inside the polygon to white.

Can't comment on the tiff-related parts, but that is about the least efficient way to rasterize a filled polygon.

Not sure if the efficiency part matters to you, but if you're going to be doing this en-masse, with a lot of files and polygons, you should look into more efficient scan/fill techniques.
