Hi,

I have a TIFF file generated by Corel with an ExtraSamples value of 999. Does anyone have any idea what this is intended to represent?

Photometric (262) SHORT (3) 1<2>

BitsPerSample (258) SHORT (3) 4<8 8 8 8>

ExtraSamples (338) SHORT (3) 1<999>

Obviously an error. Extra samples should be 1 if photometric=RGB and bps has 4 entries. I would like to know if PhotoShop does accept such file. If so, probably due to Adobe's ability to correct wrong tiffs. I bet for a bug in Corel's code.

Marti.
