Hi Katrina,

I don't know anything about TIFF/ET other than that it is a format for some digital cameras. TIFF/IT is a very specialized multi-file format used in the digital prepress industry. You could consider it the precursor to PDF/X in some ways.

Here is a link with some more detailed information: http://www.digitalpreservation.gov/formats/fdd/fdd000072.shtml There is a link to NPES.ORG at the bottom of that web page. If you need the full specs you'll have to order it from them. I don't think that there is any support for TIFF/IT in libtiff other than the tags in the header files, but I've never really looked into it. Good luck.

I would like to know more about TIFF/ET and TIFF/IT and its difference (with regards to directory structures, tags, etc) with "plain" TIFF. How does libtiff handle this kind of images?

The only information I got from the internet is that these are both Subtypes of TIFF, that TIFF/EP is for digital photography or those from digital cameras, and

that TIFF/IT is for Image Technology or for prepress images (Im not sure what this really is).
