You know, not 30 seconds after I sent the question I noticed "warmerdam" was the commenter who said that, I didn't realize it was upstream to libtiff source.

Is the next release coming soon? We have to make a release of our own and I want to know if it's worth waiting for 4.0.3 or should I just patch it now?

Thanks,

It seems to deal with a possible problem with compressed tiled TIFF images? Has this patch made its way into the official libtiff source, and is it (or will it be) included in a release?

I see a comment in the ticket from warmerdam that it was "upstreamed". If so, it will be in the next libtiff release.
