I am a newcomer in this area, I find it is difficult for me to dispose Tiff image file

I have downloaded the TIFF 6.0 specification and LibTiff 3.5.7

But I don't know how to use it.

there is a example about using libtiff in

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-libtiff.

but That article focuses on black-and-white TIFF images

where can I find example about color TIFF images?
