XIFF sounds good,

Looking with google it seemed that XIFF allready exists: (XIFF stands for Extendible IFF) http://www.faughnan.com/docmgtweb.html#XIFF a.o

At the web I cannot find any documentation/specs not at Xerox, not at scansoft

www.scansoft.com, www.xerox.com. these are the 'standard-keeper' of XIFF.

Looking with google TIXML also exists,

So we should sure look for a new name :)

I like your idea for this format, but how about XIFF (Xml Image File Format, pronounced like ziff), rather than TIXML? Just a thought...
