I am receiving jfax (jfx) multipage tiff faxes by e-mail. Now that my laptop is running Unix (NetBSD-ix86) I have need to be able to view these same tiff files that I was previously able to do using the Microsoft Image Viewer.

When I run "tiff2ps" on a multipage tiff image, the first page comes out beautifully, however none of the other pages show up.

When I run "fax2ps" on a multipage tiff image, all of the pages show up, but the quality of the text is so bad, that it cannot be read.

Is there any way with libtiff (or it tools) to proper view a multipage tiff image? It would be nice to get the quality of tiff2ps with the multipage capability of fax2ps.

I tried running fax2tiff but got flooded with tons of error messages.

If you have - or could install - Ghostscript (V 3.53 or higher), you could get a PostScript script that converts TIFF files to EPS files. To enhance it to handle multipage TIFFs (which it currently does not do) would be a matter af about 1 to 2 hours.

Drop me an e-mail if you want to get this stuff.

Helge
