You know, there are already a number of efforts around to define global attribute registries for things like "author", "date created", "copyright owner", etc.

It would be good for the TIFF taggers to join forces with the MARC recordites, the Z39.50 retrievers, the TEI header people, and look for interoperability between common header fields.
