Looks like tiffiop.h didn't use the same protection schema that tiffcomp.h uses.

There they use a macro called HAVE_UNISTD_H to know whether to included unistd.h. Does anyone know of what changes went into this file recently?

The CVS log has no data for this recent change?

libtiff has moved to the new configuration environment. Many features are broken now, just wait a bit and I shall improve configuration scripts and header files. For now it is better to use snapshots, dated before March, 19.
