I second this question since JPEG is already supported by TIFF and JPEG could be viewed as less flexible than JPEG2000.

There are already vendors storing JPEG2000 in TIFF. Of course that does not mean it is a good idea.

Yeah - and at least one of them did the boneheaded move of storing an entire JP2 file inside the TIFF (with incorrect headers on the TIFF, no less).

I don't see a need to reproduce JPEG2000 in TIFF. It already does what's needed on it's own.

Borrowing some of the better ideas and making them more flexible - that I'm all for.
