My problem is that when I compose a multipaged tiff using tiffcp and I try to view it through the standard Windows Picture and fax viewer, as well as most other Windows freeware (IrfanView etc.) they will report that the image is corrupt. Only the Office XP Document viewer will display it correctly. Unfortunately we cannot use the Document Viewer.

The question is: what libtiff version do you using? did you tried the latest 3.6.1 one?

Meanwhile when I try tiffsplit from the windows original tiffs I get:

Warning, incorrect count for field "PageNumber" (1, expecting 2); tag ignored.

PageNumber tag holds array of size 2, where the first element contains a page number and the second one contains total number of pages in the document. It seems that you have badly written files on input.
