In tag description tags marked as couldn't be changed after write. Why not?

As I understand this parameters don't take a part in libtiff calculations and do not influence to the file consistency. So why it's could not be changed to other values?

It is a real situation while a resolution coudn't be detected during creating the image. But it could be corrected by user for example.

Of course I made changes for myself in tag descriptions.

If there is no reason not to do this, it will be fine if this tag description will be changed in the next libtiff release.

Eugene,

I can't think of any reason why these tags should be immutable in the way that tags like image width and image height are. I would suggest you submit a bug report through bugzilla on this issue.

Best regards,
